WHAT IS AN ELMO?

Elmo is the name of an electronics manufacturer that makes the well known Elmo Visual Presenter. In the legal field the term "Elmo"  is often used to refer to any document camera. It is also handy  Other terms for document cameras used in the the legal setting  are Visual Presenter and Visualizer.  The document camera is connected to a monitor or projector to be displayed to the jury.

 Using either a document camera, such as the Elmo Visual Presenter, or a computer loaded with imaged exhibits, the evidence is displayed on video monitors during the deposition. The video is recorded  in Hi-Definition (HD) to provide a crystal clear picture when played to the jury.
